Saturday night, before an audience of more than 600 people at the Folly Theater, Sam Baker — a songwriter with a poet’s heart and a storyteller’s flair— spent 90 minutes rendering a gallery of detailed lyrical sketches of people trying to stay afloat amid life’s ebbs and flows.
